In order to use this ToolKit, you need a Macintosh with at least 1 megabyte of memory, Macintosh System 4.2 or later and HyperCard. The ToolKit includes XCMDs to interface from HyperTalk to the MacTCP TCP/IP package, an example stack that acts as a front-end to a Network News Transfer Protocol server, plus the complete source code for all of the XCMDs.
A hard disk is strongly recommended. If you have a hard disk, copy the contents of the MacTCP ToolKit disk into a single folder on the hard disk.
The HyperCard MacTCP ToolKit includes the following files:
• Read Me First! — this document (TeachText format).
• TeachText — the TeachText application.
• netnews reader 1.2.1 ƒ — A folder containing the Network News Transfer
Protocol server front-end stack.
• TCP XCMD Docs — A stack describing each of the XCMDs in the Toolkit
and how to use them.
• TCP XCMD Example — A simple example stack that lets you open and
close TCP connections and send and receive text over the connection.
• Source Code ƒ — A folder containing the full source code for the XCMDs.
